"Had to Do It" Repeats as TCCL Champions

It was a thrilling finish to the 2023 TCCL Season at the Roseville Skating Center on March 10th. Dane Zagar & Okey Iwu won the last two chess games of the evening in frantic time scrambles to lead "Had to Do It" past the "MCJ4" team by a match score of 2.5 - 1.5 points. Congratulations to "Had to Do It" on repeating as TCCL Team Champions. The final standings and board medalist winners are posted on the TCCL tab of the MSCA's website.

A special shout out to Eric Bell and the "Uptown Funk" team for their fantastic finish at 5 match points. That tied them with "Had to Do It" who then took 1st place on tiebreaks based on their 18.5 game points to 13.5 game points for "Uptown Funk". Eric went undefeated on Board 1 this season and took home the gold medal as the top medalist.

Trophies and medals will be handed out to the winners at the April 7th Awards Ceremony. There will also be pizza, blitz and casual chess available that evening.
