Kalpaka Goes Undefeated at 8th Grade National Event

Vaibhav Kalpaka has made a very fast start to his Minnesota chess career. He started playing at the Castle this Fall and his rating has now zoomed up to 2096! Over the December 10/11 weekend Vaibhav was in Maryland for the 8th Grade Nationals and finished with 6 points in the 7 rounds. He had 5 wins and 2 draws. Vaibhav finished in a tie for 2nd place in a very tough field. Congratulations to Vaibhav and hopefully soon he will become one of Minnesota's new chess masters!
